God Hates Divorce

The bible translations below all say that God hates divorce and these translations are corret:

Malachi 2:16 (KJV 1900)
16 For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: For one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: Therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

Malachi 2:16 (NKJV)
16 “For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the LORD of hosts. Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.”

Malachi 2:16 (AMP)
16 For the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I hate divorce and marital separation and him who covers his garment [his wife] with violence. Therefore keep a watch upon your spirit [that it may be controlled by My Spirit], that you deal not treacherously and faithlessly [with your marriage mate].

Malachi 2:16 (NASB95)
16 “For I hate divorce,” says the LORD, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with wrong,” says the LORD of hosts. “So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

Malachi 2:16 (CJB)
16 “For I hate divorce,” says ADONAI the God of Isra’el, “and him who covers his clothing with violence,” says ADONAI-Tzva’ot. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and don’t break faith.

The translations above are all correct in saying that “God hates Divorce” and this includes KJV, NKJV, AMP, NASB, CJB, NLT, and NIV84 versions. These are correct translations for all of these verses of scripture – which adhere to God’s original intent (without alteration).

Mistranslation Alters that God Hates Divorce

The scriptures below have all been altered so as to remove the concept that God hates divorce.

Malachi 2:16 (NIV)
16 “The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the LORD, the God of Israel, “does violence to the one he should protect,” says the LORD Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

Malachi 2:16 (ESV)
16 “For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the LORD, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the LORD of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless.”

Malachi 2:16 (HCSB)
16 “If he hates and divorces his wife, ” says the LORD God of Israel, “he covers his garment with injustice,” says the LORD of Hosts. Therefore, watch yourselves carefully, and do not act treacherously.

The mistranslation of Malachi 2:16 includes NIV, ESV, and HCSB versions of the bible.

It should be noted that words matter because if the scripture translation removes the original statement that God hates divorce and alters to to instead say that a man should not hate his wife by divorcing her – then this change that altogether changes the meaning.

It is interesting that the NIV1984 version and the NI2011 give different translations for the same Malachi 2:16 verse.

The reason for this is that the NIV2011 was translated with a so-called “gender-inclusive” approach.

This means that the scriptures of the NIV 2011 were adapted wherever possible to conform with modernist feminine agenda. This is again a case where instead of adapting their behavior to conform to the bible – they instead alter the bible to conform to their own feminist views.

Altering the Bible to Conform to Feminist Views

Deuteronomy 9:10 (NASB95)
10 “The LORD gave me the two tablets of stone written by the finger of God; and on them were all the words which the LORD had spoken with you at the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly.

The laws of God were written on two tablets of stone. The stone represents something that is eternal and unchanging and so God’s laws are to never be altered to fit the preconceived ideas of humans. Instead humans are to repent and change their behavior to conform with the laws recorded in the bible.

But just as the Nicolaitans reinvented God into their own image, so feminists also “reinvent” and edit the bible to conform with their own perverse standards.

God hates divorce but the feminists love divorce because they want to be free from the curse of Eve that requires that her husband will rule over her. So they alter this same verse in the NIV2011 translation to remove the original statement that says God hates divorce.

In this instance, the NIV2011 translation totally changes the emphasis of Malachi 2:16 and instead of saying that God hates divorce, they alter the meaning to say that a man should not hate his wife by divorcing her. This is altogether different in meaning and so it leaves the option open that a woman can divorce her husband. Thus they cancelled this scripture by removing the statement that says that God hates divorce.
